Do you ever look in the mirror and feel like your neck isn't quite as firm as it used to be? I understand.
Face yoga is like a little workout for your face—one that doesn’t require a gym membership, fancy creams, or needles.
If you've noticed your neck losing its firmness or those little creases creeping in, you’re not alone.
The skin and muscles in our face and neck naturally lose elasticity over time, but that doesn’t mean we’re stuck with it.
Face yoga can help tone and lift those areas, just like regular exercise does for the body.
One of the biggest benefits of face yoga is that it engages muscles we rarely use consciously. Think about it—how often do we intentionally stretch or strengthen the muscles in our face and neck?
Probably never, unless we’re making silly expressions in the mirror. But by dedicating just a few minutes a day to targeted exercises, you can increase circulation, boost collagen production, and create a firmer, more sculpted look.
Plus, it’s completely natural and costs nothing but a little time and consistency.
Beyond the physical benefits, face yoga has a way of making you more mindful. It’s not just about tightening skin—it’s about slowing down, being intentional, and connecting with yourself in a simple, restorative way.
Whether you do it in the morning while sipping coffee or at night as part of your wind-down routine, it’s a small but powerful act of self-care.
And let’s be honest—there’s something satisfying about knowing you can improve your skin without relying on expensive treatments or products.
Your face (and neck!) deserve that extra attention, and a few minutes of face yoga each day might just be the secret to keeping them looking lifted and refreshed.
As a world-leading face yoga expert, with 20 years of teaching these techniques, Danielle Collins is passionate about helping you discover simple, natural ways to feel healthy, happy, and glowing.
Today, we're going to focus on face yoga for saggy neck with exercises to tighten that area and a special tip to keep your skin smooth.

Exercise 1: The Tongue Roll for Neck and Jawline Definition
This first exercise is fantastic for targeting your neck, jawline, and a muscle called the SCM (sternocleidomastoid).
Here's how to do it:
Turn your head to one side and tilt your chin slightly upward.
Keep your lips together and gently move the tip of your tongue up and down towards the roof of your mouth.
Aim for a pace of about one repetition per second.
Repeat this 30 times on each side.
This exercise is great because it strengthens the platysma muscle, helps release tension in your SCM muscle, and defines your jawline.
Important: If you have any neck issues, please be extra careful and work only to a level that feels comfortable for you.

Danielle's Top Tip: Preventing Neck and Chest Lines While You Sleep
Let's talk about something that can make a big difference overnight: your pillow! I often talk about the Sleep and Glow Omnia pillow.
I love it because it helps stop my skin from getting creased up while I sleep, which can cause sleep lines.
It's really great for preventing lines and puffiness around the neck, and for keeping your face smooth.
I've been using these Sleep and Glow products for years. I only recommend what I truly use and love!
Exercise 2: The Neck Roll Release
This exercise is a gentle neck roll that releases tension in the platysma muscle.
Here's what to do:
Tilt your head back slightly.
Place one hand on your upper chest and the other on the opposite side of your neck.
Gently roll your neck from side to side, breathing deeply through your nose.
Repeat on both sides.
When there's tension in the platysma muscle, it can pull down the skin of your neck and jaw area. This small technique helps release that tension.
Remember, good posture is very important for reducing any sagginess in your neck. If we're in a forward position, lines can easily form.

Exercise 3: The Tongue and Lip Lift
Now, let's move on to a strengthening exercise for the platysma muscle and your lower face.
Follow these steps:
Tilt your head back gently.
Extend your tongue towards your nose.
Lift the corners of your lips slightly.
Use your finger to smooth any lines that may form.
Hold this position for 20 seconds.
This exercise strengthens the muscles around your lower face, which provides support and lift.
Now, let's repeat the tongue roll we did in Exercise 1. Do 30 repetitions, followed by another 30 repetitions.
Exercise 4: Side Neck Stretch with Tongue Extension
This is a variation of the previous exercise.
Here's how to do it:
Tilt your head to one side.
Extend your tongue towards your nose.
Hold for 20 seconds.
Repeat on the other side.
Exercise 5: The Chin Hold
This last exercise is fantastic for tightening and brightening the area under your chin.
Here's how it works:
Bring your fingers under your chin, making sure your chin is parallel to the floor.
Place your other hand on your elbow for support.
Hold that position, and breathe deeply.
Try to suction your tongue up towards the roof of your mouth.
Afterward, gently tap underneath your chin.
This helps boost blood circulation and tighten that area.
Consistency and Prevention are Key
I cannot stress enough how important consistency is when it comes to seeing results. Posture and deep breathing, practice these techniques every day.
Don't forget about preventative things you can do. The Sleep and Glow Omnia pillow and the Pillow Bra are so beneficial for preventing lines from forming.
And remember, even if you have lines on your neck, face, or chest, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! It is fine to embrace the aging process.
But, if you want to soften those lines, reduce them, and prevent any more from appearing, these techniques can help.
